Buzz Audio releases Series 20 QSP - 4 Channel Mic and Instrument Preamp

Tuesday August 24, 2010. 04:47 PM, by Nantho Audio Hardware > Buzz Audio
Audio Hardware : Buzz Audio releases Series 20 QSP - 4 Channel Mic and Instrument Preamp - pcmusicBuzz Audio is pleased to announce the release of the Series 20 QSP, a new 4 channel microphone and instrument preamplifier.

The QSP utilizes the Buzz Audio proprietary BE41 True Class A amplifiers coupled to Lundahl audio output transformers. This combination produces a clean and open high end with a nice touch of bass warmth. The transformerless non-reactive input means the QSP interfaces well with all microphone types and yields a multi-purpose preamp that delivers sound always complimenting the source.

Up to 70dB of low noise gain is available with a maximum output level of +26dBu. Each channel is equipped with an instrument (DI) input, 20dB pad, high/low input impedance switch, polarity reverse, mute and phantom power functions. The QSP is made by hand with non-surface mount serviceable components. The Series 20 QSP is the first of a new range of Class A analogue recording tools to celebrate 20 years since the first Buzz Audio product was manufactured.

"We wanted to build a new mic preamplifier that exhibited the qualities of our Class A range but at reduced price to the end user. By packing four preamps into one chassis with one power supply, the per channel cost is significantly reduced. But you won't find any cut corners here, each channel uses two of our Class A amplifiers at the input and a Lundahl audio transformer at the output. The excellent sound produced by this combination has been well proven in our 500 Series products. We truly believe owning a QSP means never having to doubt your preamp again."

Pricing : US$2380 - $595 per channel.
