Audio Hardware : Smyth Realiser A8 : a sound-room over headphones - pcmusicThe Smyth Realiser A8 headphone processor is designed to accurately replicate the sound of up to eight loudspeakers in any configuration, using standard stereo headphones.

It achieves this by capturing the binaural acoustic signature of the target loudspeakers, in a real playback environment, for each individual listener.

· Captures the impulse response data of real sound-rooms
· Any sound-room can potentially be measured and re-created
· Generates up to eight loudspeakers simultaneously in any location
· Stores multiple sound-rooms and loudspeaker configurations
· Fully integrated head-tracking
· Fully integrated IR measurement hardware and software

· Workstation monitoring of 5.1-channel or 7.1-channel surround sound
· On-location stereo and multi-channel recording

· 2-ch headphone output, analogue (2) and digital
· 2-ch microphone input, fixed gain, fixed 5V phantom power
· RS232 head-tracker data input
· SD card for up- and down-loading room-speaker responses

Available now. Price US$3000 ex shipping, complete with measurement microphones, head-tracker and Stax headphones+amp (Basic Stax set).
