Audiocation has released Compressor AC1, a free compressor effect plug-in.

The Audiocation Compressor is a dynamic processor VST plugin for Windows optimized for low CPU usage maintaining the highest precision in signal processing. With a free adjustable knee it is unique in this class.

Audiocation Compressor AC1 is available as a freeware VST effect plug-in for Windows PC. Mac OSX and Windows 64-bit versions are in development.

MeldaProduction has released three new ones: MMultiBandFreqShifter (included in MTotalBundle and MCreativeBundle, introductory price €10), MFreqShifter (free) and MFreeformAnalogEq (included in MTotalBundle and MMasteringBundle, introductory price €20).

MMultiBandFreqShifter is a frequency shifting plug-in which breaks down the harmonic content of the audio. Use it to fatten the sound, produce mild stereo expansion, or even provide complete sound destruction.

MFreqShifter is a versatile frequency shifter, which unlike pitch-shifters doesn't keep harmonic relationships and can provide everything from mild stereo expansion to complete destruction.

MFreeformAnalogEq is a unique equalizer that allows you to draw any frequency response you wish and then attempts to match the response by applying analog filters using the MeldaProduction Filter Adaption technology (MFA). If the response you draw can be achieved using analog filters, then MFreeformAnalogEq will create it for you so now there's no need to worry about complicated parametric equalizer settings anymore.

AudioSpillage has updated its DrumSpillage percussion synth plug-in to version 1.1.

New Features :

"Computers are getting faster and faster. They're not going to stop getting faster either. Power is no longer a problem - even for those with 3 or 4 year old computers. The limiting factor for any DSP-assisted system these days is the environment that it has to work in. With Soundscape (as an example) it is written from the ground up to work with DSP processing so you can get latencies of only 4 samples running plug-ins. In an AU/ASIO system latency is driven by the buffers of the host application (which invariably was not written for DSP-assisted signal processing but for host CPU processing) and this is one of the downsides of things like Duende, UAD, Powercore et al. So looking forwards at this we at SSL decided that unless you are in an absolute mission-critical application a Native system is more than adequate for the job of making music. Rather than develop a new hardware platform for Duende we came to the conclusion that most people just wanted Native plug-ins.

I can confirm that we are working on Duende Native. We will be rolling out a public-beta test phase in the next 4-8 weeks and will be looking for people to join in. Register onto SSL's mailing list to find out when."
