Instantly accessible by taking advantage of Steinberg's MediaBay and VST Sound technologies through the Prologue polyphonic subtractive synthesizer featured in the fourth and fifth versions of Cubase and Sequel 2, the new add-on holds over 180 VST 3 sound presets and more than 200 MIDI loops conveniently arranged in categorized construction kits. Created by professional sound designers in collaboration with Steinberg's in-house planners, Prologue Discoveries is an expansion set that will pique the interest of both aspiring and tenured producers of dubstep, glitch-hop and grime, but also holds a wealth of sounds for electro, techno and minimal.

From the WaveFront ReFill, comes WaveFront Volume One for Kontakt 3 or greater. The original data archive was remastered, and the resulting Volume One includes much of the original WaveFront, but includes new bonus material as well. The first half of Oxide Kits is also included as bonus kits, just like in the original release.

While WaveFront Volume One is based on the original master data, it is not a clone of the first release, it is a reworking of the core data, yet still offering a similar feel and programming style in the Kontakt format. Avalaible until First of January 2011

Blue Cat Audio has released a new version of its free spectrum analysis plug-in, Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst. The update includes a new look and feel, 64-bit VST format support on the Mac and several user interface enhancements borrowed from Blue Cat Audio's commercial plug-ins.

What's new in Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst 1.7:

- Improved readability.
- Select and zoom with one click.
- Drag the rulers to move the curve when zoomed
- Zooming is now animated.

Propellerhead today announced the immediate availability of two maintenance updates to their Record and Reason software: Record 1.5.1 and Reason 5.0.1.

These free updates for owners of Reason 5 and Record 1.5 bring a number of bug fixes and improvements to the software. Recommended for all to install, the Reason 5.0.1 and Record 1.5.1 updates are available for free download from the Propellerhead web site

The code behind the plugin is again Brainworx, who were also responsible for the Mpressor (and the SPL plugins too by the way).

Price will be $299, but an introductory offer is promised, around $199. The public beta will be available until December 1st. I'm looking forward to give this one a a go. Let us know what you think if you try it.
