After more than eight years in the making, globally renowned sound designer, Rob Papen, whose sounds and virtual synths include Predator, Blue and Blade, has released his eagerly awaited tutorial package 'The Secrets of Subtractive Synthesis'.

In 2001, Rob Papen began giving exclusive masterclasses teaching synthesizer sound design in his studio. For these training sessions, Rob developed his own method to explain the secrets of subtractive synthesis, called 'The 4 Element Synth'.
This masterclass training is now transformed into a combined book and DVD package that also delivers numerous tips and tricks to help you to design and tweak your own sounds.

The 4 Elements – Oscillators, Filter, Amplifier and Modulators – are explored in detail using both hardware and software synths, with useful summary notes for each chapter, clear diagrams and handy references to the DVD.

Delora announces the worldwide availability of gbTouch 3.3, an upgrade to their popular Delora line of iPad music controller applications. gbTouch offers control surface and remote control capability for the Apple GarageBand music application on the Mac.

New Features & Benefits
The Delora gbTouch 3.3 app adds a performance mode that can be used to play and record notes for GarageBand's software instruments. Two different controllers are available: a standard piano-style controller, and a drum pad controller.

Detunized's lead sound designer Stephan Marche picked out the best presets from his releases "Casiopeia", "Binaries", "Phase Facets", "fTable", "Composite Keys" and "4op".
Alltogether they form a palette of Live Packs that feature such gear like a TX81z, a WSA-1, a Rapman, an OPL-3 FM chip and both of the famous Hohner sampler/synth devices.

Ohm Force has announced its 21st Ohm Studio Collab Friday taking place on December 7.

This time, speed is key: each participant will be required to contribute to 4 projects at least, spending no more than 15 minutes for each. Given the collaborative nature of Ohm Studio projects, this should be enough time to quickly build (many) song ideas.
