Audio Hardware : Phonic Corporation Summit Digital Mixing Console - pcmusicPhonic Corporation introduces the Summit, a 6 Channel Digital Mixing Console with full color touch-screen.

The Summit offers 16 microphone and line input channels, all of which can be routed to any of the 8 internal AUX mixes, 8 subgroup mixes, control room mix, effect processor or main stereo mix. AES/EBU digital inputs and outputs are also included, routed to and from the main mix. A series of XLR and 1/4" outputs send your main, control room, headphone, AUX and group mixes out to external devices. All of this is accomplished through the powerful 40-bit fixed-point digital signal processor.

Virtual Instrument : Synapse Audio EKS-9, an Electronic Bass Drum Synth - pcmusicSynapse Audio introduces a new software synth to its product line. The EKS-9 is a VST/AU plug-in, dedicated to creating powerful electronic bass drum sounds, reminiscent of vintage hardware.

According to Synapse Audio, the virtual analog engine is not only capable of authentic recreations of the sounds from such machines, but can synthesize new kick sounds with lots of punch too.

The EKS-9 is available in VST and AudioUnit format for both Windows and Mac OS X. As an introductory promotional offer, it can be purchased for $39 during the first month (regular price is $49).
