Audio Hardware : Mamba Analog to Digital Bi-directional ADAT Converter released - pcmusicNetworkSound just released Mamba ANADAT, an Analog to Digital Bi-directional ADAT Converter. The Mamba ANADAT unit can convert 16 channels of balanced line level pristine audio to industry standard ADAT & vice versa. To connect Microphones, you can use any external micpre units with Analog outputs. Mamba ANADAT unit can also be supplied with micpre option.

The unit will operate in 48/44.1kHz / 24 bits and can be upgraded to full 16 channel 96 kHz/24 bits later for extra charge. The 96 kHz mode will use SMUX technique as prescribed by ADAT, doubling the number of inputs and output connectors for the same 16 channels. The analog input and output are available thru industry standard Tascam analog DB25s. You can also get Mamba DB25 patch bays if you need easy plug in/out.

Music Software : SSL iPhone App to control X-Patch - pcmusicSolid State Logic has released their first iPhone App. The "Remote Control For X-Patch" can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store now.

The X-Patch Remote Control searches a network over Wi-Fi for SSL's X-Patch devices. If your X-Patch is connected to a Wi fi network the Remote Control enables selection and recall of individual stored Logictivity Presets. There are up to 128 presets per X-Patch found, and where more than one X-Patch is found, each device can be independently selected and controlled.

Music Software : Service update for Melodyne available - pcmusicCelemony today released a service update for Melodyne editor, Melodyne assistant and Melodyne essential. The update resolves a compatibility problem with the new version 5.5 of Cubase and version 5 of Nuendo as well as offering various minor bug-fixes and optimizations for all three editions.

The fastest and simplest way for users of Melodyne editor, Melodyne assistant and Melodyne essential to obtain the update is by using the "Check for Updates" function on the "Settings" tab of Melodyne's "Preferences" property sheet.

Computer Hardware : Steinberg releases CI1 and CI2+ portable interfaces - pcmusicSteinberg announces the release of two new CI interfaces: CI1 and CI2+. Both CI1 and CI2+ are USB-powered audio interfaces, housing two combo connectors, phantom power and allowing for high-impedance input. While the entry-level CI1 comes bundled with the Sequel LE sequencer and WaveLab LE 7 audio editing application, CI2+ is an advanced interface, seamlessly combining Advanced Integration control capability with the included Cubase Essential 5 music production system. Both CI1 and CI2+ will soon be available for EUR 119 and EUR 339, respectively.
